Prof. Dr. Yılmaz is among the most prominent names in commercial law and is currently the Head of the Commercial Law Department at T.C. Maltepe University. Prof. Dr. Yılmaz completed her LL.B. at Istanbul University in 1982 and completed her second LL.B. at the University of Bern, Switzerland, in 1986. After completing her LL.B., she received her Ph.D. from the University of Bern in Commercial Law in 1988 with "cum laude" honors. The title of her Ph.D. thesis is "Directors' Liability in Groups of Companies in Swiss, Turkish and German Law." For her graduation with distinction from the University of Bern with a Ph.D. degree, she received the "Academic Distinction" award from the Turkish Ministry of Justice.

After completing her studies, in 1988 she became an assistant professor at Marmara University, Faculty of Law, and in 2008 she became a professor at the same university.

Prof. Dr. Yılmaz is providing consultancy services to GSI Meridian on all aspects of commercial law issues with her immense knowledge and experience in a wide range of legal issues affecting businesses from company law to employment law, tax law and health and safety.
